It complements and expands upon the Privacy Policy of Piauhylino &#038; Associados, Sociedade de Advogados (hereinafter the Firm), with which it must be interpreted accordingly. <\/p><p><strong>PART I. Cookie Policy<\/strong><\/p><ol><li><strong> What are Cookies<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>Cookies are small text files that are placed on the user&#8217;s device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when they access a website. They depend on prior consent, except in cases where the collection is anonymized and meets the requirements set out in the Guidelines of the National Data Protection Commission.  <\/p><p>(d) Third-party cookies. Where applicable, these are identified separately, with an indication of the respective owner and the purpose pursued. <\/p><p>Details of the cookies currently in use, including their name, category, duration, and the issuing entity, are presented in the consent panel displayed during the first visit to the website and are permanently accessible via the Cookie Preferences link provided in the website footer.<\/p><ol start=\"4\"><li><strong> Consent and Preference Management<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>Consent for the use of non-strictly necessary cookies is requested during the first visit to the website via a banner that allows the user to accept all cookies, refuse all non-necessary cookies, or customize their choice by category.<\/p><p>Users may change their preferences at any time via the Cookie Preferences link in the website footer. Exercise of Data Subject Rights <\/strong><\/p><ol start=\"6\"><li><strong> Recognized Rights<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>Under the GDPR and Law No. 58\/2019, the subject of personal data processed by the Firm is granted the following rights:<\/p><p>(a) Right of access (Article 15 of the GDPR), which gives the subject the right to obtain confirmation from the Firm as to whether or not their data is being processed and, if so, access to such data, as well as information regarding the processing;<\/p><p>(b) Right to rectification (Article 16 of the GDPR), which gives the subject the right to obtain, without undue delay, the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;<\/p><p>(c) Right to erasure, also known as the right to be forgotten (Article 17 of the GDPR), which allows the subject to have their data erased, particularly when it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, when consent is withdrawn, when the subject objects to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate interests, or when the data has been processed unlawfully;<\/p><p>(d) Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 of the GDPR), which allows the subject to obtain, in certain circumstances, the restriction of processing, whereby the data is kept but other operations are suspended;<\/p><p>(e) Right to data portability (Article 20 of the GDPR), which allows the subject to receive the personal data concerning them in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to transmit it to another controller;<\/p><p>(f) Right to object (Article 21 of the GDPR), which allows the subject to object at any time, on grounds relating to their particular situation, to the processing of their data based on legitimate interest, as well as to processing for direct marketing purposes;<\/p><p>(g) Right to withdraw consent (Article 7(3) of the GDPR), without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing carried out up to that point.<\/p><ol start=\"7\"><li><strong> Procedure for Exercising Rights<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>The rights provided for in the previous section may be exercised by written communication addressed to the Firm via one of the following means:<\/p><p>(i) Email to the address dpo@piauhylino.pt;<\/p><p>(ii) Postal mail to the Firm&#8217;s headquarters at Avenida Aida, Estoril Garden, Bloco 1, Escrit\u00f3rio 112, 2765-187 Estoril, Portugal.<\/p><p>The communication must include the identification of the subject, a clear description of the right they wish to exercise, and the elements that allow the Firm to provide an appropriate response. The Firm may request additional information necessary to confirm the applicant&#8217;s identity whenever there is reasonable doubt regarding it. <\/p><ol start=\"8\"><li><strong> Response Time<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>The Firm will respond to the request within one month of its receipt, in accordance with Article 12(3) of the GDPR. This period may be extended by two additional months where justified by the complexity or number of requests, and the subject shall be informed of the extension and the reasons for it.<\/p><p>The response shall be provided in writing, in a format compatible with that used by the applicant, or by other means, namely electronic, whenever appropriate.<\/p><ol start=\"9\"><li><strong> Free of Charge<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>The exercise of the recognized rights is, as a rule, free of charge. The Firm reserves the right to charge a reasonable fee or to refuse to act on the request when requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive, particularly due to their repetitive nature, in accordance with Article 12(5) of the GDPR.<\/p><ol start=\"10\"><li><strong> Right to Lodge a Complaint<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>Without prejudice to the possibility of lodging a complaint directly with the Firm, the subject may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, which in Portugal is the National Data Protection Commission (Comiss\u00e3o Nacional de Prote\u00e7\u00e3o de Dados), located at Avenida D. Carlos I, 134, 1.\u00ba, 1200-651 Lisbon, geral@cnpd.pt, www.cnpd.pt. Subjects located in Brazil are granted the right to lodge a complaint with the National Data Protection Authority (Autoridade Nacional de Prote\u00e7\u00e3o de Dados), accessible at www.gov.br\/anpd. <\/p><ol start=\"11\"><li><strong> Policy Updates<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>This Policy may be updated whenever necessary due to changes in legislation, regulations, or processing practices.
